Senate Bill 880 leapfrogged ahead of hundreds of other bills and was signed yesterday, February 29, 2012, and is already in effect.

The bill is a “clean up” measure that corrects problems created by the bill’s predecessor, SB 209, which authorized such installations, but had constitutional flaws.  SB 209 also conflicted with existing law that requires ⅔ of HOA members to approve designating common area as exclusive-use area for an individual’s station; that conflict is resolved by SB 880.

CAI-CLAC worked throughout the legislature’s fall recess, September through January, to help write this bill and correct these deficiencies.
