The CAI-CLAC Annual Planning Meeting (APM) brought together 56 CAI-CLAC Delegates, Liaisons, At-Large Delegates, Emeritus Members, as well as Chapter CED and LSC members from throughout California to discuss key issues facing community associations and our legislative priorities for 2019. Our APM is critical to provide updates on important legal requirements that impact how Community Associations work and key legal developments that impact our residents.

A number of these delegates shine in the work they have done for CAI-CLAC over many years of service. This year, CAI-CLAC recognized Ramona Acosta with the distinction of emeritus and John MacDowell, Esq. on CAI-CLAC past chair acknowledgement. Both, Ramona and John have been dedicated to serving community associations are admirable and greatly appreciated.

The APM and our Benefit Fundraiser also provides the opportunity for us all to come together face-to-face to get more informed, more engaged and better able to contribute to a successful community. It was a pleasure working alongside such smart and passionate people devoted to making California community associations a better place to work and live.

CAI-CLAC’s new Chair, Nathan McGuire, Esq., also discussed his vision and goals for the year ahead to help increase communication, resources and engagement for members.

“I am privileged to serve as Chair of CAI-CLAC because I believe in our mission., explains Nathan McGuire, CAI-CLAC’s Chair and an attorney at Adams Stirling, PLC. “I’ve seen firsthand over the last decade serving on CAI-CLAC how our legislative efforts have made a positive impact in the lives of California’s 13 million homeowners living in community associations. I look forward to increasing CAI-CLAC’s reputation in Sacramento and focusing on local grass roots legislative efforts.”

We encourage all our CAI members to cultivate the excitement generated at the APM into the year ahead by staying involved. We will continue sharing more resources on meeting with local Legislators and updating members on how to get involved throughout the year.
